Assessment 3 Post

So yeah how to make a quick summary in 21 minutes about what I've learned in MPI104, hmmmmm good question. So:

Within Blogger I edited a template and put a fair few different elements in like the scm player and all the gifs on the side bar and header, probably poor place in the header but who can say no to skull kid shakin' his booty atop a clocktower. Blogger was pretty much just a cake walk because we only had to edit a template that was already set out for us and we didnt really need to go into any detail to change a little thing. It's also good that it remembers the labels you've used from before so you dont have to keep typing them in you can click on them.

Flickr, simple photo sharing that really doesn't take much to figure it out especially since they added the drag and drop function to the uploader, muuuuch easier than the old one which just looked like crap to begin with. But yeah just having to upload photos, which for me was just usually some random pics from my ipod chucked into instagram, is pretty much just simple stuff that anyone could do, again the tags are kept just like in blogger so that just keeps everything almost the same.

Now Delicious this was actually something new to me, first impression "why have an internet bookmark saver when youre using a browser with bookmarks" didn't make much sense to me but it's probably just for those sites that you don't want to save on your browser but you can on this. Anyway it's exactly the same case with blogger and flickr, do a post/upload image/mark bookmark which involved the exact same thing, write a description and put tags for it which they all do pretty much the same, so I basically put up most of the bookmarks that are in my bookmarks bar and then some others that I found later on.

HTML website this was just a pain to do, I got my columns set up so it had the same sort of feel as my blogger feed and then I chuck an image in and BAM all goes to shit, turns out in the style sheet colour was spelt "colour" not "color" which somehow changed the properties of the borders and everything else. My idea was just to have a simple site with a few images and thats what it turned out to be which I was pretty proud of in the end actually.

So to sum up Blogger, Delicious and Flickr all were simple and it didn't teach me much other than blogger has some cool features with it's editing. What I learnt overall though is that it's pretty easy to get yourself out there on the net you just have to set up a few sites for yourself and in doing so don't go with hand coding html, use a site or program that will make it easy for you to adjust everything (unless your'e a pro at HTML, then go right for it). So yeah HTML is annoying and the internet is pretty cool.

Money

Money has been a pretty big thing this year, I'm trying to save money but I want to buy so many things that I can't seem to keep a hold of all of it. Mainly useless stuff that looks cool is what I'm trying to buy and then there's maybe 5 games that I want to buy this year which will end up costing something like $500, it'll be worth it trust me, the problem here is that work sends me an email saying "oh here's your pay slip, enjoy your money ;D" but check my bank account and awww no money payed. I believe they have gotten slack recently in payments.

This is going to be my next purchase

Assessment #2 Post

Link to my website NP Website

What I've done with my website is just give it a simple black background that follows similiar to my blog with white borders and blue links as well. I kept the SCM player from my blog and placed it on the page so that you can listen to the same music. A counter was added from Supercounters.com which was done by just selecting which style I wanted to use and then copying the code across to my page.
The way my page follows is similiar to my blog with a big left column with white border and a thinner right column with links to my blogger, flickr and delicious. my home page shows posts with images that link to the page they came from and the gallery page which shows only the images without any text. All the pages link to the same style sheet which dictates the position on the columns and the links.

I learnt how to "div" items and how to put a link in an image when it is clicked and different items within a style sheet. What I'm proud of is everything actually because they all took about the same amount of time to figure out and actually implement. The only problem I was faced with was actually changing the colour of the links as no matter what I typed in the links would not change colour with what they were suppose to. But all in all it ended up being very good, still can't figure out why I need the password for it or why the title doesn't change unless I go to a new tab, anyway It works, have fun.

Divinity Theories

I haven't been doing much writing lately on Divinity which deeply saddens me because I've had a few ideas that popped into my head that I've quickly put down onto my document this would include having a dragon/other animal language and having other events like racing that go on along side the Southern Nations Fighting Tournament. It might be because my assignments are just there and they're being done at a lazy man's pace (which is fine by me so long as they're done in time) but I really hope I get some writing done this week, it should be interesting.

Here's an image of Satoshi and his pet Arctic fox (that still doesn't have a name yet)

I commissioned Takeru-San on Deviantart to draw this

My Idea

I had an idea last night, it was absolutely amazing if I remember correctly but thats the problem I CANT REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS! I was laying in bed thinking about it and I thought I should write this down then the other part of the brain said "Nah brah you'll remember it in the morning, it's all good" Stupid part of the brain, honestly.

Also I'm starving because I can't eat anything until after my blood test this morning

VFX Background

So I dedicated a fair bit of time today to go on with the backgrounds for my VFX animation and I have to say they turned out pretty well, a few are on my Flickr but I like this one the best out of all of them

Animation

yo yo I went to dailies today and I felt incredibly good as everyone liked it and thought it was funny, with a few minor adjustments added by them, I'm just glad I went before Alice as her stop motion stuff is absolutely amazing.

Heres a pic of the evil bunny involved
